Ten years ago, Hoffmantown Church commissioned 120 people to start a church on the west side of Albuquerque. The original 120 left beautiful facilities and strong ministries to worship in an elementary school cafeteria while their children sat in hallways and learned about God.
We had a burning passion for people we did not know and our only goal was to know Christ and to make Christ known. We knew beyond
a shadow of a doubt that this was our time. It was our time to give, to serve, to sacrifice, to leverage all we could for the Kingdom of God.
The original 120 have never regretted one single moment or one single sacrifice.
Over these past 10 years, God has blessed Sagebrush. Thousands have given their lives to Christ, marriages have been restored, addictions have been broken, rebellious sons and daughters have come home. Sagebrush is a safe place to hear the dangerous, life-changing message of Jesus.
With two growing campuses, over 6,000 people in attendance and a third campus in the works, it is now our time to do what the original 120
did 10 years ago. It is our time to fully fund a multi-site movement that will put a Sagebrush Church within a 20-minute
drive of every person in Albuquerque. It is our time to build a 2,000-seat worship center on our Riverside campus
so we can double our impact in the community. It is our time to be the church and not just attend one.
The next few weeks here at Sagebrush will determine the legacy of love that we want to leave behind for future
generations. I have often thought about the original 120 who were used by God to start this church. They didn’t
look for someone else to do what they were called to do. They simply stepped out of their comfort zone and said,
“Here am I, Lord. Use me.” As a result of their sacrifice and commitment, thousands have given their lives to Christ.
They were faithful in their time, but now it is our time.
Our time to serve. Our time to give.
Our time to sacrifice.
Our time to leverage all we have. It’s our time to advance the Kingdom of God.
May we be found faithful for such a time as this!
